Messaging rules on Meta's platforms

Meta's platforms let a business reply, not broadcast. Every rule below follows from that, and Arolead enforces them so an automation cannot get your account into trouble.

The 24-hour messaging window

On Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp, a business can send ordinary messages for 24 hours after the person's last message. Every message they send resets the clock.

• Instagram and Messenger: once the window closes, no message can be sent until the person writes again. Arolead's inbox shows the time left and disables sending after it.
• WhatsApp: after the window closes you can still send an approved template, and Meta bills it. See WhatsApp templates.

Private replies to comments

A business may send one private message to someone who commented on its post, within 7 days of the comment, even if that person never messaged before. This is what comment-to-DM uses. The reply opens a normal conversation, and the 24-hour window applies from then on.

WhatsApp opt-in

Marketing templates may only go to people who agreed to hear from you on WhatsApp. Recipients can report or block from the first message, and Meta uses those signals to rate your number. See WhatsApp broadcasts.

What gets accounts restricted

• Sending the same DM to many people who did not ask for it.
• Automated replies that do not relate to what the person said.
• Asking people to comment or message purely to trigger a mass DM with nothing delivered.
• Using a personal Instagram account with a third-party tool. Only Business and Creator accounts are permitted on the API.
• Sharing your password with a tool. Arolead never asks for it.

How Arolead keeps you inside the lines

• Replies only ever go to a person who commented, replied or messaged first.
• Sends outside a closed window are refused rather than attempted.
• One automation runs per event, so a comment does not trigger three DMs.
• Free accounts get a delay after 50 replies a month rather than a hard stop, so nothing is silently dropped.
